Release 3.2.2
Every trade, signing and re-signing plays out on screen, a season that can never wedge itself, and Search & Destroy that plays your rules.
46 notes across 15 sections
Your season always advances
- FIXA career can no longer get stuck on a week that will not end. A match that could not be played, for any reason, was left sitting as scheduled, and the week refused to close because it was still waiting on that result. In a bracket it was worse: the same unplayable pairing was picked again and again, so no other match in the tournament ever ran and the grand final never finished. That is the Challengers cup save that would not advance.
- CHANGERosters are fixed before matches are simulated, not after something breaks. A team short of the minimum number of active players gets someone promoted off the bench, then an emergency signing if that is not enough, and this now runs for every team still alive in a tournament rather than only the two teams playing right now.
- NEWIf a match still cannot be played after all that, it is awarded as a walkover to whichever side can field a lineup, and the result is recorded as awarded rather than played. One match is lost instead of the whole tournament.
- CHANGEYour own team can drop below the minimum through a trade or a release, and the game fills the gap for you rather than blocking the week.
Live matches
- CHANGEArcade worlds now heal out of combat by default. Health regeneration arrived last release as a setting nobody had turned on, so every world, arena shooters included, played the no-heal model until an author found the checkbox. Each world type now starts where it should: arena shooters heal after breaking contact, bomb-defusal and hero worlds carry their damage through the round. Your own setting still wins where you have made one, and careers already in progress pick this up.
Regions and groups
- NEWEach region can qualify a different number of teams. Regional qualification used to be one number applied to every region, so you could not send five teams from one region and three from another. Per-region spots are available on the regional stage playoff, regional events, qualifiers into a global event, and championship qualifiers. Every region equal stays the default.
- CHANGEUneven fields seed correctly. Swiss and Masters brackets used to slice the field into equal per-region blocks, so a 5/3/2/2 field routed the wrong teams into the direct playoff spots. Seeding now follows what each region actually contributed, and the seed labels match.
- CHANGERenaming or deleting a region carries the per-region spots with it instead of silently reverting that region to the flat number, and the editor checklist warns you about region names it does not recognise, splits that do not add up to a fixed bracket size, and direct-to-playoff counts larger than your smallest region.
- NEWLeague Intel reads as your groups. On a world with a group stage, scouted teams are split into the groups the season is actually being played in, with pills to jump to one group, region names where a group is regional, and a "Not in a group" section for teams the group stage does not cover. A 40-team save is no longer one long wall of cards.
Contracts
- CHANGEExtensions open only in a player's walk year, the final season of their deal, in Manager mode as well as MyPlayer. Manager mode let you extend anyone at any time, which meant you could lock the whole roster down on day one and never deal with free agency again.
- CHANGEThe Operations roster shows which players are eligible, and when one is not it tells you how many seasons are still left on the contract instead of just refusing.
Scrims
- FIXChemistry stops at your stage scrim limit. Multi-select let you book every team in the league at ten scrims each, so a stage with ten scrims left could run over a hundred of them and max the chemistry bonus out of a single batch. Scrims past the limit still play and still count in your record, they just pay no chemistry, which is how player growth from scrims has always worked.
- CHANGEThe run bar tells you before you commit: how many of the scrims you are about to book will build chemistry and how many will not, with the same count on the chemistry tile and again in the summary once the batch has run.
Series lengths
- CHANGEMajor grand finals are best-of-7 and the season-ending Championship is best-of-9, so the finale reads as a step up rather than the fifth identical long series. You can set either length yourself on the event itself in the tournament builder.
Deals play out on screen
- NEWSending a trade now gets an answer as a scene rather than a line of text. The two clubs take half the screen each in their own colours, the players involved come in with their portraits, and the verdict slams across the middle: accepted, rejected with the reason, or countered with what they actually want.
- NEWA rival calling you with a trade opens the offer itself. The terms reveal a side at a time, both sides of the deal are laid out with each player's role and archetype, and Accept and Decline sit in the scene. It is the one cinematic that waits for you instead of playing itself out.
- NEWFree agency offers come back as a results board. Every offer you made lands one after another, each getting stamped accepted, rejected, countered, or signed elsewhere with the club that took them, then a tally, and then the decision popup picks up where it left off. No more finding out what happened by reading your roster.
- NEWRe-signing your own player is staged in your club's colours, and the answer is written as a signature stroke drawing itself under their name: signed, countered with the terms they want instead, declined but still talking, or walking to test free agency.
- NEWCommitting to a free agent gets its own moment: your crest stamps onto their portrait and your colours flood out of it, because this is where they become yours. Winning one back off a rival who tried to snipe them says who you beat. Passing on a player is staged too, so walking away is a decision you watch yourself make.
Sponsors want an audience, not just trophies
- NEWSponsor tiers now open on either of two routes: trophies won, or the audience you have built. A club that has never lifted anything can reach the entry board, then prime, then elite, purely on the following it draws. Winning still works exactly as it did, so nothing you have already unlocked goes away.
- NEWMarket Reach is a score out of 100 on the Sponsorships panel, with your fanbase, your rank in the league, where you sit against the league average, and the fans you have gained. Just over half of it is how big you are and the rest is how much you have grown, so inheriting the biggest club in the world opens the entry board on day one but every tier above it has to be earned.
- CHANGEA large audience is leverage at the negotiating table as well, nudging a sponsor toward saying yes the same way a trophy cabinet does.
- CHANGEReach is measured against your own league rather than in raw numbers, so the same thresholds mean the same thing whether your world counts fans in thousands or in millions. Your starting fanbase is recorded when the career begins, so growth is credited to you and not to whoever built the club before you.
The league economy is yours to set
- NEWThe salary cap and luxury tax are now numbers you choose rather than rules baked into the game. Set a flat cap by hand, or leave it tracking what the league actually spends and moving with it each season. Cap level, the hard spending ceiling nobody may cross, the tax rate, how much it escalates for each repeat season over the cap, and where that escalation stops are all yours.
- CHANGEWhatever you set governs the AI exactly as it governs you. Careers started before this keep playing by the numbers they were built under.
- CHANGEA tax ceiling below the first-year rate is corrected as you set it, since that would have made staying over the cap get cheaper every season you stayed there.
Save editor
- NEWEvery club in the save is now editable, not just the one you manage. Search the league, edit budget, fans and payroll in place, and open any team for its city, practice city, region, competitive region, accent colour and facilities.
- NEWThe team list shows the salary cap your save is running, each club's payroll against it, and how many clubs are over and would owe tax, so you can see the shape of the league's finances while you edit it.
- CHANGESave settings now covers every rule the save runs on, including the new league economy numbers, rather than roster limits and a handful of toggles.
Winning looks like winning
- NEWThe champion celebration was rebuilt as a head-to-head: both marks fly in, the shot tightens on the pair, a blade sweeps through, the runner-up comes apart on contact, and only then does the winner take the centre and get crowned. A title with no runner-up simply arrives and is crowned. If you have reduced motion turned on, it goes straight to the crowned ending and skips the rest.
- NEWBrackets pan by dragging, vertically and horizontally at once, so a big double or triple elimination tree is no longer a fight with two scrollbars.
- FIXBracket scores no longer blink into place. Results animate in as they land, and matches that have not changed stay put instead of the whole tree rebuilding itself whenever anything else on the screen updated.
Popups and panels
- FIXStacked dialogs sit in the right order. A popup opened from inside another popup could end up behind it, most visibly on break week, where the panel you opened was unreachable underneath the one you opened it from.
- FIXWatching a live match from MyPlayer no longer fights with the dialog it was opened from.
- CHANGEThe match scoreboard grows and shrinks smoothly when you expand veto details or switch between maps, instead of snapping to the new size.
- FIXPage transitions no longer leave a faint blur behind once they finish.
One Community, no more Workshop
- CHANGEThe Workshop and the Community section were two views of the same published work, and which one you landed on decided what you were allowed to do with it. There is now one Community section. Everything you could do in the Workshop you can do there, whether you are signed in or not.
- NEWMap collections have a home at last. A whole set of maps shared as one item could only be found inside the Workshop, so a link to one did not exist. Collections now have their own tab you can browse, search and save from.
- NEWSave and like work on every community page. Finding a world from a shared link used to mean going to the Workshop and searching for the world you were already looking at. Saving still needs no account, because worlds and maps install to your device.
- NEWYour listings is one page. Everything you have published, with its status, whether a moderator has asked for anything, and the controls to hide it, change its banner or take it down. Worlds, maps and collections used to report that in three different places, and the public listing itself was only visible from the Workshop.
- CHANGEOld Workshop links still work and land on the matching Community tab. The Map Library link to your published collections was pointing at a tab that never opened, which is fixed by the same change.
Smaller things
- FIXA player is labelled with the same role everywhere. Trade offers used to invent a label from a player's stats, so someone shown as a Duelist on your roster could arrive in a trade card as a Slayer. Trade cards now show the same role your roster shows, with the player's archetype next to it.
- CHANGEScrim records read as your record against that team ("You're 3-1") rather than the ambiguous "3-1 vs you".
