Every mode, every match

Each game type brings its own modes and its own way of deciding a winner. Here is what each one plays, how a match unfolds, and how to run any matchup you like.

Formats by game type#

What the official world of each type plays. A world you build or install can change the modes, series lengths and rules.

How a match plays out#

For a head-to-head series. Battle royale skips the veto and series and scores a lobby instead.

  1. 01
    Veto
In shooters and car ball, teams take turns banning and picking maps from the world’s pool. Sports play at a set venue.
  2. 02
    Lineups and plans
Each side fields its starters and a plan for the mode. Form, injuries and staff are read in for the week.
  3. 03
    Maps
Every map is fought event by event, with its own day form, until one side reaches the target or time runs out.
  4. 04
    Series
The first side to win the majority of maps takes it. A series-deciding Search and Destroy map leans harder on clutch.
  5. 05
    Ratings and MVP
Every player gets a match rating per map. The MVP is the best-rated player on the winning side.

The details of skills, chemistry, strategy and ratings are on How it works.

Sim, watch or play#

All three run the same engine, read the same players and produce the same kind of result.

Free

Sim

The result in about a second. Best for getting through a busy week.
Free

Watch live

Every mode in 3D with a broadcast dock. Pause, step, scrub, replay a map, or sim the rest; maps already played stay saved.

Play in 3D

Take control of one player while the AI plays everyone else, in every live mode. Online, you take a seat in a shared lobby.
Sandbox Pro
Play it yourself
Free accounts can watch any match and spectate online lobbies. Sandbox Pro lets you play your own player in 3D, solo and online, plus car ball and sports worlds.

The Simulator page#

Run any matchup from any world on your device, outside a career. Your saves are never touched.

  1. 01
    Pick a world
Choose a game type, then a world: official, your own, or one installed from Community. You can browse and install community worlds right there.
  2. 02
    Set the match
Pick the mode, the map and the series length the world uses, then two clubs. Random matchup and swap sides are one tap.
  3. 03
    Run it
Get an Instant result, Watch live, or Play in 3D as any starter Pro. Win odds come from 40 instant runs.
Edit lineups
Swap any player into any club, starter or bench. Edits are kept per world on this device, and Reset to shipped undoes them.
Share a matchup
The world, mode, map, clubs and series length live in the page address, so a link opens the same matchup. A link to something this device does not have says so instead of swapping in something else.
Fresh every run
Each run draws new luck, so running the same matchup twice can give a different winner.
Pro game types
Car ball and sports worlds can be browsed by anyone. Running a match in them needs Sandbox Pro Pro.
Does the Simulator affect my career?

No. It loads the world in a sandbox while the page is open and never writes to your saves.

Why can I not watch a map live?

A map needs the objectives its mode uses and both team spawns before it can run in 3D. Maps that are not ready can still be simmed instantly.
